Hi all!
I thought some of the LHers might be interested in the upcoming Family Farm Lobby Day in Jefferson City. If anyone is interested in carpooling, they can contact me jennifer@centralreform.org. Otherwise, you are welcome to just show up! It’s okay if you’ve never lobbied before – they’ll give us talking points and there will be experienced folks there to show you the ropes.
The event is sponsored by the Missouri Rural Crisis Center, an awesome organization in mid-Missouri that is working to meet the needs of our Missouri family farmers.
Here’s the description:
Family farm Lobby Day
State Capitol
House Hearing Room 2
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009
10AM-1PM
Please Join Us to Show Your Support for Family Farms, Local Control & Healthy Food!
We need to make sure that legislators know that…
· we are still here–and will make sure that they don’t pass any bill that takes away local control!
· we support local food from family farms!
· we oppose any bill that supports corporate agri-business at the expense of Missouri’s family farmers!
Join family farmers, rural citizens and consumers in support of family farms and democracy.
Join us at the Capitol on Wednesday, February 25th at 10AM.
(House Hearing Room 2-in the capitol basement)

I stumbled upon the Local Harvest cafe by accident during my stay in the Lou, and I had to check my pulse to see if I was alive. An all organic food shop using local farmer’s goods? And beer? Real hormone free cold cuts? Thanks for all the delicious food and the smiling staff behind the counter to keep me in good health. You guys rock!
